What is Mental Health?

Well, I am glad you asked. Mental health is a person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being. So basically, mental health is the state of your wellbeing.

Why is Mental Health Important?

Mental health awareness is important because it allows an individual to realize his or her own potential and learn how to cope with the stressors of life, learn how to work productively and fruitfully, and can contribute to his or her community in a healthy way.

Is this Abnormal?

Mental health is not abnormal; however, there are a wide range of mental health illnesses that affect mood, thinking, and behaviors.

When Will I Know It's Time For Me To Seek Therapy?

but not limited to...

  • Consistent Anxiousness

If anxiety keeps you from sleeping, working, social interactions, or normal daily activities. If you feel anxious for 4 days or more in one week for six months or longer.

  • Unhealthy Coping Behaviors

Abusing drugs, alcohol, food, sex, or any other life-threatening methods of coping

  • Expected or Unexpected Loss

You’ve lost someone or something important to you.

  • Loss of Sense of Normality

You can’t do the things you like to do.

Remember, Therapy is not forced unless mandated by the court. It is most beneficial to seek therapy when you believe that you and your loved ones will truly benefit from therapeutic interventions.
